Description

This self-paced Watercolor Botanical Letters 101 eCourse will teach you how to make a swoon-worthy botanical letter! You can then use the knowledge you gain in this course to make letters for your own pleasure or to give as gifts.

Prerequisites

Anyone can take this course as long as they have an interest in basic illustration and watercolor.

Necessary Supplies

You’ll need a few basic supplies in order to create this watercolor botanical letter. They are:

  • Watercolor Botanical Letters 101 PDF and Traceable Letter Outlines PDF (included with the course)
  • Graphite mechanical pencil + eraser
  • Watercolor paper, cut to 8″ x 10″ (20.32 cm x 25.4 cm) – affiliate link (alternatively, you can use a sketchbook; I like Shinola)
  • Ziller Soot Black ink + straight pen + Nikko G nib
    • If you really don’t want to use a dip pen, you can use a Muji pen. Or, you can use a fountain pen with a waterproof ink like DeAtrementis Document Ink. (Note that you may need a converter to use loose ink with the fountain pen.) – affiliate links
  • Various Greenleaf & Blueberry Artist Grade Watercolors (find a color list here); alternatively, use any watercolor palette
  • Size 0 and Size 3 paintbrushes – affiliate links
  • Bright window (or a light box), art water, cleaning cloth

Note that you do not need extensive knowledge of how to create illustrations in order to take the course. I’ll walk you through everything, every step of the way.
